Well.. it has been awhile .. here is what I'm working on..

A Interpretive wood sculpture ...

never did one of these before.. but enjoying the challenge..

carved out of cedar and using any means necessary to get the wood off..

really make you think how a parts of the piece are working together..

looks much different after tonight.. but forgot my camera.. planning on working on this over the weekend..

Well.. here are some shots of the DU banquet... the shop ended up taking 3 of the the 4 top awards...

1st photo is a Razorbill that took best in show gunner.. and the next photo is of my mini Red-tail Hawk mounted on a hunk of furniture...

we had a good banquet with 64 pieces there at the show... now onto Worlds...

Well.. it is that time of year.. our local DU and decoy contest that goes along with the banquet...

here are just ywo of the pieces that I made for the event... We usually get between 50 and 80 pieces for a one night show and sale...

The first photo is a mini Red-tail Hawk that I mounted to a old cabinet door.. I really like the color of the wood, I think it goes well with the bird..

The other is a Puffin that Sue wanted me to make.. and since I do what I am told.. here it is.. done in a antique style.. fun projects...

Well wish us luck and we will have a great night and make some bucks for the ducks...

Well.. this is what I have been up to in the paint room..

exercising my paint brushes and alot of different colors..

First Mandrian Drake that I ever painted.. no plans to do another soon...

The item that is hard for me is that I have never painted one of these before, and really 

didn't know what I was doing.. then when do I...

carved this birds awhile ago and was just not into painting it.. now that it is done, glad that it is..

Now onto DU stuff the banquet is just weeks away...

Well.. here are a couple of birds that I just finished..

a Mallard Drake and a Laughing Gull... these may go to a local contest.. or they may go to the river...

cork bodies and wood heads..

carving some items for our local DU event coming up in March 3rd...

Also got some Worlds project underway...

Well... we are back from the Toms River Show in NJ...

had a good time, got to see friends that I don't get to see to often...

I was able to enter a few birds and also got to judge some other categories...

Sue got to clerk for some of the other divisions...

Also got to eat at some really good places...

After the show I went to MD to hunt ducks and geese with the Ugly Mug Club...

we shot a few birds and laughed most of the time..

duck season is over in our state.. now we have late goose, but the only problem is that we have very few geese around... so I guess I will carve ...

Well...welcome to a new year of carving and other items from my world...
Went to NJ hunting last week and we had fun... the weather was against us but we managed to scratch out a few birds... we were lay out boat hunting for Brant and divers... (divers is another word for Buffleheads)...
never got to shoot out of a lay out boat before...
The first photo is the rig we were using.. we took a few of our decoys and the second photo is some of the guilds Brant and my winter Loon... our birds looked real good floating in NJ...
Now back to the basement, so I can paint Gadwalls....
